The North Shore Kids Safety Network, further referred on this page as the Safety Network, is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting safety and injury prevention for children and teens living in the Milwaukee North Shore area. The Safety Network is funded by the generous support of the Fox Point-Bayside PTO, Fox Point and Bayside Police Departments and anonymous donors.
The Safety Network, which was formed in the fall of 1990, started in an effort to promote bike safety and helmet usage. The Safety Network currently is involved in the following programs:
- A reward based helmet “citation” program
- Annual bike helmet sale
- Grade level specific programs designed to address
- Pedestrian safety
- “911 safety procedures
- Personal safety
- In-line skating
- Internet safety
