Overview of the School District Handbook:
The 2011-12 school year is intended to provide a wealth of learning opportunities, experiences and challenges for our students. It is our goal to partner with you in providing a safe and engaging learning environment in which students can learn and grow as responsible members of the school community.
The School District Handbook is intended to provide you with important information on the policies, procedures, and guidelines that help us to assure a safe and orderly learning environment. Please read through this handbook so that you are familiar with the topics covered and use it as a reference point throughout the year. We value the shared responsibility we have in creating a learning environment that is engaging, growth producing and safe for all.
The handbook is divided into four sections. The first section provides General District Information that outlines policies and procedures that pertains to both schools and impacts all of our students, K-8. The second section provides specific information, procedures and policies for Stormonth Elementary School students and their families. The third section provides information, procedures and policies specific to Bayside Middle School. The final section lists School Board Policies and Procedures that pertain to school and student issues.
For your convenience, a list of district and school administrators and administrative staff are listed at the front of the handbook along with their contact information. The 2011-12 school district calendar is the second page of the handbook followed by the Table of Contents which can help you to more quickly find the information you are looking for.
Please take the time to read through the information provided in this handbook and to share pertinent aspects of it with your child. We hope you find this information helpful in assuring your child has a positive school experience. On behalf of the entire administrative team, we look forward to partnering with you in creating an educational environment of mutual respect, responsibility, and engagement.

Overview of the 2012-13 District Employee Handbook
The District has been engaged in the process of developing an Employee Handbook that will be in place for all employees in the 2012-13 school year. The portion of the handbook that is common to all employee groups is published here. Specific employee groups will have an additional addendum that will outline compensation, benefits, working conditions and other items specific to that employee group. Those addendums have not yet been developed.
You should find the Handbook easy to navigate by using the Table of Contents. If you have any questions about the contents of the handbook, please contact either Amy Kohl, Director of Business Services or Rachel Boechler, District Administrator for further clarification.
