Bayside Morning Announcements

Red Ribbon Week
Good Morning Bayside! This is Sophie with a few words of wisdom.
Here’s a news flash! Did you know that your brain will continue to develop until you are 24 years old? That’s right. And did you know that all illegal drugs damage the part of the brain that controls your impulses? People who are high on drugs or alcohol literally don’t have the brains to control themselves. They give all their personal power to a substance that controls them. That’s why they make bad choices.
But guess what. That’s no excuse for doing stupid things. You’ve got plenty of brainpower to understand the facts, and the facts are that it can take a full year for your brain to completely recover after you have abused drugs or alcohol. In some cases, the damage done can never be fixed.
Friday we will all wear red to show our support of making good choices!
With something to think about, this is Sophie. Make it a great day or not, the choice is yours.
Students and Advisors: Time is running out to sell items for the PTO Innisbrook Fundraiser. As of today – the leading advisor groups are as follows:
- 5th Grade – Mrs. Wilson
- 6th Grade – Mrs. Schaub
- 7th Grade – Mrs. Marcks
- 8th Grade – Mrs. Miller
The deadline is this Friday, October 24th. As you know, the Advisor group with the highest sales will win an opportunity to play Dodgeball against Dr. Galster and his recruits – followed by delicious donuts! Be sure to do lots of selling this week so your Advisor group can knock these leaders out of first place and make your advisor group the lucky winner of Dodgeball and Donuts!
