The office of Teaching, Learning and Assessment is charged with the development of curriculum, the assessment of student learning and the support of effective instruction throughout the district.   Curriculum defines what we want students to know and be able to do.  It addresses content as well as skills and attitudes that we want students to develop by the time they leave a course, a grade level, or our K-8 educational program.

Teaching focuses on guiding students to successfully address the standards and the benchmarks. The emphasis in the district is 21st century skill development using research-based best practices.

Learning emphasizes what students know and are independently able to do successfully.

Assessment emphasizes how students can show what they know. Assessment results drive teaching and learning.
